Hydrogen is to become the principal energy carrier in a sustainable society. This odorless and colorless gas has enormous potential as a sustainable fuel, and recent developments indicate that hydrogen will soon be available in large quantities. For such industries as transportation, the marine industry, the industrial sector, and the space industry, this could significantly improve sustainable operations.
The key to energy transition
Hydrogen is a versatile, clean, and safe energy carrier that can be used as a “fuel” in a fuel cell or as a feedstock in the industrial sector. The gas does not occur spontaneously in nature and must be produced from water (electrolysis) or natural gas (steam-reforming).
Hydrogen has a very low density, which makes the gas relatively challenging to store and transport. It takes up much space unless put under enormous pressure or liquefied at a temperature of -253 centigrade. Obviously, at these extreme temperatures, the use of first-class cryogenic infrastructures is essential.

Hydrogen is a flammable gas, and its use is not without risk. Therefore, in the design, production, and selection of valves and instrumentation, we strictly adhere to equipment standards pertaining to potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX). These standards apply to all types of electrical and non-electrical equipment as well as to safety equipment.
